FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What’s the difference between a frontal and a closure?
A: A frontal has lace that extends from ear to ear, allowing for a more complete hairline and additional styling versatility. Frontals typically come in sizes such as 13x4 and 13x6.

A closure has a smaller lace area and offers more limited parting space. Common closure sizes include 4x4, 5x5, and 6x6. Closures are generally easier to maintain and are a great option for everyday wear.

Q: What type of wig do you recommend for a first-time wig wearer?
A: I recommend a closure wig for first-time wig wearers. Closures are beginner-friendly, easier to maintain, and can last longer with proper care.

Q: How long does wig customization take?
A: Please allow a minimum of 5 business days for basic wig customization. Processing time may be shorter or longer depending on the services needed and the complexity of your desired look. Custom coloring and specialty styles may require additional time.

Q: What does “ready to wear” mean?
A: Ready-to-wear wigs are customized and styled before you receive them. Depending on the unit, this may include lace customization, knot bleaching, plucking, cutting, and styling. Although your wig will arrive prepared for wear, minor adjustments may be needed to achieve your preferred fit and look.

Q: Can you make me a wig using bundles?
A: I do not currently construct wigs from bundles. However, I can add additional bundles to an already constructed wig when appropriate to create more fullness.

Q: Do you offer glueless wigs?
A: Yes! Wigs can be customized for a glueless fit when accurate head measurements are provided. Proper measurements are extremely important to achieve the best and most secure fit.

Q: How do I take my head measurements?
A: Head measurements should be taken with your natural hair as flat as possible and using a soft measuring tape. Measurements may include your head circumference, front-to-nape, ear-to-ear, and other measurements depending on the unit. Please double-check all measurements before submitting them, as inaccurate measurements can affect the fit of your wig.

Q: Do you offer wig installs?
A: I no longer offer wig installation services. However, your wig can be fully customized and styled so that it arrives ready to wear.

Q: If a wig is listed as “On Hand,” can I pick it up the same day?
A: In many cases, yes! However, depending on the wig and its current style, additional time may be needed to refresh and prepare it before pickup. Some On Hand wigs may be available for next-day pickup rather than same-day pickup. Please confirm availability before planning your pickup.

Q: Can I wash and restyle my wig?
A: Yes! Your wig can be washed and restyled as needed. Use products designed for human hair and always apply a heat protectant before using hot tools. Avoid excessive heat, as frequent high temperatures can shorten the lifespan of the hair.

Q: How should I care for a custom-colored wig?
A: Custom-colored hair requires a little extra care. Wash your wig only when needed using cool water and a color-safe shampoo and conditioner. Avoid excessive heat and always use a heat protectant when styling. Some fading over time is normal, especially with vibrant or semi-permanent colors.

Q: Will my wig shed?
A: Some shedding is normal with any human-hair wig, especially lace units. Excessive pulling, brushing, heat, improper detangling, or cutting into the lace/wefts can increase shedding. Always detangle gently, starting from the ends and working your way up.

Q: How long will my wig last?
A: The lifespan of your wig depends on the quality of the hair, how often it is worn, and how well it is maintained. With proper care, a quality human-hair wig can be worn and reused for an extended period of time. Lace is delicate and may require maintenance or replacement before the hair itself does.

Q: Do you offer wig revamps?
A: Yes! Wig revamp services are available for qualifying human-hair wigs. Revamps can include washing, conditioning, lace maintenance, restyling, and other services depending on the condition of the unit. Please keep in mind that not every wig can be restored to like-new condition.

Q: Can you guarantee that my wig will fit?
A: The best fit can be achieved when accurate head measurements are provided. Because measurements are submitted by the customer, I cannot guarantee the fit of a unit if incorrect measurements are provided. Please measure carefully and double-check your measurements before submitting your order.

Q: Do you accept returns or exchanges?
A: Due to the nature of wigs and hair products, all sales are final. Returns and exchanges are not accepted unless otherwise stated. Please carefully review the wig description, measurements, color, length, and other details before purchasing. If there is an issue with your order, please contact me as soon as possible so the situation can be reviewed.

Q: Will my wig look exactly like the photos?
A: Each wig is customized individually, so slight variations may occur. Hair color can also appear different depending on lighting, screen settings, and the starting color of the hair. While I work to recreate each advertised look as closely as possible, no two custom wigs will be completely identical.

Q: How should I store my wig when I’m not wearing it?
A: Keep your wig clean, dry, and properly detangled before storing it. For best results, store it on a wig stand or mannequin head when possible. If storing it in a bag or box, make sure the wig is completely dry and protected from excessive heat and moisture.

Q: Can I sleep or shower in my wig?
A: For the longevity of your wig, I do not recommend regularly sleeping or showering in it. Removing your wig when possible helps reduce tangling, shedding, friction, and unnecessary stress on the lace.

Q: Do you offer maintenance after I purchase my wig?
A: Yes! Wig maintenance and revamp services are available when your unit needs a refresh. Services may vary depending on the condition of the wig and what is needed.
